Funny Things to Share

I just wanted to share with you the new addition to my family. I got a new dog and my son decided on Duke. Now when I think of that name I think first of Lord's and Ladies and Princes, and Princesses and all. =) I also think about big dogs second because I knew a lady whose dog was named Duke and he was a Saint Bernard.

Anyway, he is loveable, and playful. He's still a puppy but don't be fooled he's a great guard dog. He's fast and quick and before you know it he'll be right behind you.

When I was outside calling for Duke to come with me the neighbors all looked to see the dog with such a name. What breed of dog would be coming through the door? A greyhound, a doberman, or maybe a husky?

You might be wondering what breed of dog Duke is? =)

Well when Duke shot through the door the neighbors faces changed from curious to humorous. I saw smiles throughout the park and many were laughing loudly.

See Duke is a Teacup Chihuahua......really he is. LOL

Here's a picture of our furry little friend.

He weighs 2 lbs. and he's 4 months old. =)

That's funny! Is he called Duke because of the college?

What a cutie! Here in Mexico, Chihuahuas are vicious guard dogs, they nip and bark like mad.

Too cute!!! And I love a strong name on a dainty dog -- it's poetically pleasing to my sensibilities!

Have a wonderful weekend!

My word, his name is almost bigger than him. LOL
Does he get along with the tiger on your bookshelf?
I'm sorry. I couldn't resist.

Thanks for introducing yourself.

Love this little teacup chihuahua. My dog is a mini foxy/chihuahua cross. She is 2 years old and only weighs 2 kilograms. Probably because she's a mad runner like me and hits the boards every day. We cause quite a stir, ha ha.

Hi, Duke looks like a little Dude, all right. I'll bet he is feisty, to boot! Thanks for stopping by to visit with me the other day.

He's adorable! Already 2lbs at 4 months? He'll keep growing until he's two years old, which will put him in normal chihuahua range - around 4lbs. Would you believe my 80 pound dog is scared of chihuahuas? Well, you would because you own one! Great little guard dogs. So full of personality and so adorable! I really, really want one. We've got a couple dozen cute ones at the shelter that have caught my eye, but I haven't given in just yet. Lily would probably be horrified if I brought one home. But I need something to keep the cats in line! HA! I love the name Duke too! Perfect name for a little dog.

When I hear the name Duke, I think of a Great Dane.

However, Duke is perfect for a Chihuahua - they may be little on the outside, but on the inside, they're huge! They're fierce when they need to be and terribly loyal and gentle.

Great name for an adorable puppy!

What a cutie pie. Reminds me of a chihuahua I used to know. His name was Killer.

Awwwww! What a little cutie :) My friend calls these wee critters 'Che-hua-hua's'. Reason been when she was at a pet store once a young ditzy woman came trotting up to peer through the glass at the puppies with her bf. After they stared at them for a bit she spotted the sign and said to bf 'Ooooh... che-hua-hua's, yeah I've heard of them before'
....*snigger*.. so it's our running joke now :) She has a little long haired girl called Lucy *grin* Lucy thinks she's as big as a Tiger ;p and tried to take on my pup once (500g vs 35kg isn't gng to end v. well...). Little lion-hearts they are! :)
